Your Gallery at School
5th Class finished their experience with The National Gallery of Ireland last Friday. We really enjoyed the experience. We were assigned an artist that visited us on three separate occasions. Fergus Byrne was our artist and we really enjoyed our time with him. In session 1, we looked at famous paintings in the Gallery and created our own versions using new tools and paint. We learned about lines, shapes and angles in painting too. In session 2 we learned about mindfulness and completed lots of activities to help us be present and aware of the world around us. At our final session we listed to talks by an artist, Clodagh, and an art conservator, Mathilde. We looked at different in careers in art. It was very interesting. We would like to say a huge go raibh maith agat to Fergus and the Gallery for the experience. We really enjoyed it and learned more. We look forward to visiting the Gallery when restrictions allow.
