Science in Rang 2

This week in Rang 2 we learned about sound and sound waves. We did some investigating to see if we could make 'Jumping Rice' using sound waves.

We wrapped a bowl in cling film and then put rice on the top. Beside it, we hit a baking tray with a wooden spoon. We wanted the sound waves from the tin to cause the rice to 'jump', without touching it.

After some trial and error, we were successful! All of the boys were able to make the rice 'jump'.
