The boys from 5th and 6th class had a great day out that ended with a thrilling final in Fairview Park today!
The team started out very well winning their first two matches 3-0 and 4-2, with goals coming from Clint, Sebastian and Liam.
The team came agonisingly close to a draw in their third match but unfortunately lost 1-0, with the goal coming from a rebound after a brilliant penalty save from Kayden.
A draw in their last match secured their place in the final and the team played their hearts out. All the boys played out of their skins but unfortunately lost 2-1 in the end after a very tight battle, with Scoil Chiarain’s goal coming from a fantastic free kick from Jermaine.
Kayden was fantastic in goal all day long, making some incredible saves. Liam, Nathan, Robert, Billy and Ignas all defended brilliantly all day long, stopping attackers numerous times. Jermaine, Sebastian, Jacob, Maison, Cole, Tajus and Conor were all fantastic in midfield, they didn’t stop running all day long! Finally, up front Clint, Printu, Aaron and Conor all performed brilliantly, with some excellent goals coming throughout the tournament.
